We earlier covered the launch of 2009 models of Pulsar 180cc and Pulsar 220cc. Both these models have improved in power ,mileage and design at the same time with small reduction in cost comparing features with earlier pulsar models .If you analyze the specs of Pulsar 200cc and Pulsar 220cc ,you will notice a discrepancy in price. Fuel injection powered Pulsar 200CC model produces 18 bhp and sells at 68000 Indian rupees .On the other side the new carburetor powered new Pulsar 220C model cost only 70000 for 21 bhp . Ensuring a maximum speed 140cc ,the new Pulsar 220cc is the fastest bike in India . Its almost 15Km more than old Pulsar 220cc and with a reduction of 15000 RS . So its obvious that Pulsar 220cc is far far better than 200cc model . And this is the main reason for Bajaj to discontinue the production of Pulsar 200cc FI . Bajaj is planning to sell 2.5 lakh bikes per month with changed specs and considering competitions . Hope this pricing help them to achieve the target .
