Finally, Honda has reduced the price of their most selling car in India, the Honda City. The current design of the Honda city is there from 2008. Later they made some changes and induced new variants in 2009 and 2010. Until now the parts of Honda City were exported from abroad. Honda has been working on localization of the car manufacturing process, and it seems that they are successful in bringing the cost to a reasonable level.
Honda City is a common car preferred by upper middle class people in India. The City models which are placed under 10L provide moderate luxury and comfort. Still the prices were high when you compare it with other sedans in same segment. Lately, car companies are increasing the rates due to lofty inflation rates. Localization is not only the reason for the sudden revision of Honda City prices. Honda seems upset about the swiftly increasing recognition of new Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta 2011-2012 models, which got released in recent days.
