Its long time since we are waiting for a small car from Ford . Finally Ford reveled their plans to launch a premium hatchback Figo in Indian market by 2010 . Ford President and CEO Alan Mullaly announced Figo on a grand event at New Delhi , last month. The premium hatchback segment in India now includes Fiat Grande Punto ,Honda Jazz , Maruti Suzuki Ritz , Suzuki Swift Skoda Fabia and Hyundai i20 .Ford might have realized the potential of Indian small car segment ,and that could be the reason behind the introduction of Figo .
The design looks some what similar to Chevrolet Aveo U-VA . But actually its different and built on completely new platform . Ford Figo will be manufactured from Chennai plant of Ford ,where they plan to invest around 2500 Crores .
Figo will have 1.2 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel variants . The Diesel model is expected to provide top mileage like that in Ford IKON . Detailed specifications ,price and exact launch date of Ford Figo will be available in coming days .
