One of the world’s leading automobile manufacturer, General Motors, has entered into a new battle in the field of automobile manufacturing. They have done this with the release of the news that they are going to market two cars with a difference in the energy source which power them. The new cars will be power by electricity from battery and CNG. The CNG powered car is the upgraded Chevrolet Aveo. Whereas the Battery powered car is none other than the famous Spark. In the new incarnation Spark will become Chevrolet e-spark. In future energy crisis will be the villain. GM has foreseen this fact and they have taken the first step towards finding a solution to the expected energy crisis.

The electric car company Reva has joined hands with GM for the successful launch of the new e-spark. This initiative will redefine the way future vehicles will be powered. E-spark is just a beginning of green concept in car industry.
E-spark will be based on the spark foundation, and is powered by the Reva power train.
Even though the car is a Battery powered one, there will be no compromise for the customer comfort features. The interior features of the new e-spark will be competitive. You can expect all the features that a petrol or diesel powered car have.
You may wonder on hearing the fact that the new Chevrolet e-spark will be a four seated car. It is basically a five door car. Four doors will enable the easy entry and exit of the passengers. You will also feel the difference in the driving mechanism. It is a fully automatic car. So no need to worry about the difficult usage of clutch in cities with high traffic density. Even though there will be some difference, the dashboard display will give all the necessary information. For a driver who has been using petrol or diesel powered cars, the first test drive of the new e-spark will be a bit uncomfortable and wonderful at the same time. But one can easily cope up with the new driving system.
Heart of the electric drive system is an AC motor. When the driver presses the accelerator the AC motor will produce sufficient power for the vehicle to move forward. The AC motor moves the vehicle with 100% torque. Acceleration performance of this electric car will be very good. Driving mode can be classified into two. Regular mode and Boost mode. Regular mode is for driving the vehicle normally. In Boost mode more torque will be produced by the AC motor for a short duration of time. This will help the driver to adjust his driving style.
E-spark will be launched by the end of 2010.
The CNG kit used with the new Aveo will be of the type, sequential injection. Sequential injection is the most advanced type of gas injection adopted for gas injection purpose. Fuel combustion is made efficient through the use of precisely controlled electronic injectors. When it is run in petrol distortion would be minimum.
